The following site has several math games that correspond with the lessons taught in class. They are arranged by unit and then indicate what lesson or lessons they go with. Many are games that are listed in the math series.
The next site is The Everyday Mathematics web site and may be helpful with homework, help with facts, explanation of new concepts and so on. I did notice that it states it does not work well with Firefox but should have no problems with Safari and Internet Explorer.
We are currently starting the third unit focusing on multiplication and division. Please practice facts nightly.
The first unit was on geometry. To help learn the vocabulary words the students created pieces of art based on Clifford Singer art. They incorporated the following vocabulary words by making each, then demonstrated that they new each vocabulary by pointing out each one.
Point Line Line segment Ray Angle Parallel lines
Perpendicular lines Intersecting Rectangle Square Triangle Parallelogram
