AUTHOR OF THE MONTH
Aesop is featured this month! Aesop was a Greek folk hero who is supposed to have lived during the 6th century BC. He earned a reputation as a great teller of animal fables. Through these fables he showed how foolish or wise people could be. These always taught a lesson by way of a moral at the end of the story.
Aesop's fables have been translated into almost every language in the world! We can still learn a lot from these fables. Read one today!!
Not sure what fables Aesop wrote? Go to http://www.umass.edu/aesop/fables.php for a list of the MANY fables told by Aesop.
GENRE SHELF
We are sticking with the Aesop theme and having Fables as our Genre of the Month. Aesop wasn't the only one who had stories with a lesson. Check out the shelf to see who else was interested in teaching with their stories.
